Well, I'm thinking that, if push came to shove, I'd be more tempted to take my chances in Oz, with an average temp of 35°-40°, without support, rather than trying to survive in Siberia, with an average of -5°, without support.
I could put up with a couple of weeks in the high 40°s but, how long would I last in Siberia in January, with the average -25°? 5 minutes?

OK, not strictly about climate in and of itself, but pertinent all the same, as we know that the major issue with renewables is going to be storage, not generation.
eg. the thought of paying 8K or so for a useless 'powerwall' only to have it rendered pretty much useless by the time it's paid itself off, which I then have to pay for again due to capacity depletion ... err nup!
There's no enviro commonsense in that rotating door of silliness .. power storage at this level needs to be measured in multiple decades, not a couple of years or so.
So IBM reckon the potential key to future energy storage may be salt water. My guess is going to be Sodium based or something like that.
