Climate Change and our Land of Fire, Flood and Drought.

Recent Floods, Fires and Drought across Australia are only a sign of what’s to come unless we colletively demand massive changes in fossil fuel use and land management practices. As a major vehicle users group we should be calling for rapid change to renewable energy powered EV’s, conversions and public infrastructure.

Otherwise we’ll all just be staying home polishing our former road going dinosaur museum pieces, rather than travelling this great country or the world.

    It’s actually getting serious.

“Australian climate scientists concluded a decade or more ago: we should expect more frequent and more severe extreme weather events and the dangers these bring.”

Australia is a minnow in "Climate Change", population wise. What we do here will have no effect if these facts are even 50% true. Perhaps even 25%.

Everyone has to play their part or nothing will change. Rich countries like Australia should set an example of how to forward thinking. China is leading the way with an absolutely massive investment in climate control measures, which puts western countries including us to shame.

Agreed - just because overall we are a minow but per capital we are appalling. We need to set an example.

I think we are all pro'ly doing a great service to the planet by hanging on to our Landies for so long, instead of getting the latest and greatest new car every few years.

    No argument there.
I was using a bit of "Poetic license" to stress a point.

Some mates in Hepburn (Vic) sent me Pictures of fires from the centre of town. Tassie fire proof temperate rainforests are carbonized with little infrastructure for the people there the rest of us have build after being toasted for decades. A mate in Townsville was ok this morning. He needs diving gear after 8.30pm.

If the worst forecasts used to plan flood waters, fires or all other weather events are being exceeded time to stop was yesterday. Doing my bit with a few things. I know we all need to do more.

Climate change is making weather events - fires, floods, droughts etc - more extreme.
