PPSR AND NSW REGO DETAILS DON'T MATCH

NEW PURCHASE - SERIES 3 LANDY

NSW REGO CHECK WITH CHASSIS NUMBER SHOWS 1974 SERIES 3 - CAR CURRENTLY REGISTERED ON HISTORICAL PLATES. HOWEVER PPSR CHECK DONE USING CHASSIS NUMBER SHOWS THE CAR AS 1955 SERIES 1 WITH COMPLIANCE 1974 - COULD PPSR HAVE INPUT THE WRONG DATA? OR SOMETHING MORE SINISTER?

    ANY THOUGHTS?

    What is a PPSR?

Put the actual chassis number (from the chassis not the paperwork) and someone should be able to advise.

I doubt a 55 series 1 chassis could be used on a Series 3 - 55 was 86" or 107" where a series 3 is 88" or 109" putting aside all the other differences in the chassis - could be done but unlikely.

Quite possibly a clerical error - does the vendor have any other providence (eg. expired rego papers, any receipts etc etc) ?

Chassis number /date range info could be available, does it present as a S3 ?

yep presents as an S3 - current rego states it is mid 70's landy s3 which all seems ok. chassis no + engine no given above. from what i can tell the chassis number is from a S3? its only the PPSR which is maybe a typo??

Entering that Chassis Number Into Calvin comes up with the following:

    Model: Land Rover, Series III[/TD]

    Body type: Basic

    Wheel base: 88in

    Engine: petrol

    Model years: 1972-1979

Destination: Completely knocked down (CKD), right-hand drive (RHD)

    056XX Serial number

    Design: Unmodified

So that chassis number is for a 72/79 Series 3 - RHD

So there is an issue with the PPSR

thanks for information. Is there a database which can match the engine number to the chassis?

    Not really.

    361xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 8:1 CR 5-bearing
    364xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 7:1 CR 5-bearing
    366xxxxxx Series III diesel 2286cc 5-bearing
895xxxxxx Series III diesel 2286cc 3-bearing (fitted to 88 inch airportable for export)
    901xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 8:1 CR 3-bearing
    902xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 8:1 CR 3-bearing
    903xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 8:1 CR 3-bearing
    904xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 7:1 CR 3-bearing
    906xxxxxx Series III diesel 2286cc 3-bearing
    941xxxxxx Series III petrol 2625cc
951xxxxxx Series III petrol 2286cc 3-bearing (fitted to 88 inch airportable)

So your engine comes in here "
906xxxxxx Series III diesel 2286cc 3-bearing" which seems right

So you have the right chassis number and the what seems to be a correct engine.
