    Easter In Esperance

Well back from Esperance. While the weather was not kind was still a good week. Great to meet Andy, Deb, Lindsay, Jamo, Joan, Graz & Jenny as well as a few other Landie owners. Most Disco owners dont seem to wave? Go figure. Lots down there over easter though.

    Hi Guys
here is a copy of the story I put on "The Black Stump"
    [img]Hi Guys
As I mentioned had a great time.
We met up with Graz and Jenny in Narrogin on friday morn and travelled together.Graham had his Disco loaded to the hilt, camper trailer, tinnie spare wheels and fuel etc,we had a very strong headwind until Lake King and Graham could only manage 80 to 90ks,once the wind subsided 100ks seemed easy enough. He reckoned it was his worst economy ever, time for a fill up.

Fri nite we met up with the others,Craig Melinda and kids from Kalgoorlie(Defender Extreme) Jamo and Joan from Esperance(Very nicely kitted out Disco3)
We decided to meet up sat avo for a short trip out to Wylie bay along the beach, unfortunately Jamo was crook so didnt join us.Time to air down

After a drive along the beach we stopped so the kids could have a swim.We came across this very recently rolled Tojo being towed backwards.OH WHAT A FEELING

Graham and I decided to wet a line, after a hour or so of nothing we were rewarded with some southcoast Salmon

Sun morn and it is very WINTER,we met up with Jamo and the others for a trip out to "Plum Pudding" west of Esperance.Time to air down again.

Due to a combination of high tides and swells we had to keep finding alternative routes thru the sand tracks as the beach wasnt too safe.Lindsay had a ride in the Disco3,he loved it,the air suspension working really well over the limestone rocks in the track. This steep sandhill blocked our progress, after a few attempts we all went around it.

Thats as far as Jamo got the Disco3,but to be fair the rest of us had a bigger run up than the Disco3.

We then got back to the beach and found a nice spot for a bbq lunch.

As it wasnt the best of days after lunch we headed back to town,a great day out had by all.
Tuesday, another full winters day.We met up with Craig and a friend of his in a 100 Series for a run along the beach to Cape Legrande National park,30km via the beach,65km by road!!!

Once we got to the park we went around to Lucky Bay and set up on the beach for lunch and a spot of fishing(nothing biting!!!)

Despite the wind and showers Lindsay and the kids spent atleast 21/2 hours in the water.

We tried flying the gliders several times, but couldnt get the correct match of hill and wind direction,at least we got a bit of practice in.

The weather remaind foul until thursday, and after a good day fishing we dicided to stay another nite.

Lindsay managed to catch 65 fish,64 on the last 2 days!!!!Many were thrown back as they were too small, but we brought plenty home in the freezer.
A great time had by all.

I think i would have done a lot better on that hill if:

    a. I had a longer run up; or

    b. I knew how to drive properly!
