The Chinese have a Chairman for life and a long-range plan, but the Americans have a short-term opportunist who will probably go down soon, so it's not hard to guess who is going to win.

Went to a tech talk last night, it was about the impact of the uptake of EV's on our electrical supply network.
relevant point from the presentation is.
As we move towards EV's ( the boffins opinion was that in 20 years 80% of the national fleet will be some sort of EV.)
Coal effectively becomes a component of our national fuel reserve and we have a few spare buckets of that lying around, all we have to do is wait.
Cheers Glen
Except it will be illegal to burn the coal because of the emissions.
Won't happen. The Snowy Hydro 2.0 and Tasmanian second interconnector will add about 7000 to the network, replacing the likely closure of most coal fired stations by 2030 as they reach design life.
The sooner the better for mine.[bighmmm]Quote:

At least the Chinese are predictable.
Sure are. With House prices falling in Oz they are "predictably" buying most of the housing stock up for millions. A Fi- Fo visit to so do.
Eastern suburbs of Adelaide are the "NewTerritories" & I suspect similar in other states.
Then they build boundary to boundary & hardly any garden & the rest concrete with very high walls & then leave them empty probably as a bolt hole.
That is predictability. But I do love their nosh.[smilebigeye]
