Dowse Lagoon was alleged to be the home to a croc, late last century. I never believed that.

It's interesting that the croc which escaped into the river at Lismore after being a pet was apparently quite happy in the river there, until it was swept away in a flood, I think.

Everyone's happy in Lismore. I think it's something to do with the local vegetation or some such.[bighmmm]
