Bush Bashing has always meant that there isn't a useable track available so you have to cut your own through the bush to get to where you want to go and most people that have to do this at least have their 4WD fitted with frontal protection (Bullbar) to prevent damage to the front of the vehicle.
How can the term "Bush Bashing" be anything other than Bashing your way through the Bush/scrub??
The "Fireies" here use a grader to "Bush Bash" the fire trails so that the fire fighters can use the track without damaging the trucks, Just pushing the scrub over isn't much use as the track is only useable in the one direction.
