AFAIK they definately had std defender wheels, the dealers may have optioned them up with white disco rims but the one at Garthons was wearing std defender rims when I was looking at them before I bought my first Defender.

One of the blokes in the LROC (Sydney) had one. I'm pretty sure it was Graham (or Graeme) Perkes.

I saw one in Bathurst on friday, it had all the stuff mentioned above bolted to it, didnt pay much attention to the rims though and the owner was nowhere in sight so i couldnt find out more. Matt
The Tanami only had the standard Defenfer rims as standard. We had a few come through here when new.
I know one owner didn't like the landscape decals & removed them just after he bought it.
They were a nice package though.
I found a 1995 bound set of 4x4 Australia magazines last week and finally found the Tanami specification from an article in the Feb edition.
It came with packrack, bull bar (with UHF & HF mounts), 100W driving lights, snorkel, shovel/axe/pick mounted to bonnet, dog guard, insect screen over radiator & the Tanami decals. Wheels are std Defender.
My rack has a mesh floor plus a ladder (not shown in the picture), no HF mount on the bull bar and the previous owner had removed the full length decals and the defender decal. I always wondered about the insect screen, seems it was standard fitment.
Interesting to see all the LR adverts being run back in '95 ..........

Nice bit of research there Gromit :) .
1995 eh, I didn't realise it was so long ago.
I must admit, I didn't know about the insect screens. The cars certainly weren't fitted with them from Cartech when the cars were delivered to the dealership. Maybe they were supplied separately to the sales dept.
just discovered this thread while searching for rims here is a pic of my brothers tanamihttps://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/im...2007/07/83.jpg
