    The diesel emissions scare hit just as JLR were rolling out their new diesel engines. China has slowed a bit and is going big on hybrids and EVs. Investment in the Defender would have cost a lot.
    I think JLR hopes the Defender and its hybrids will turn its numbers around pretty quickly.

    It's not so much a real loss, as money invested in the future of the company. Expenditure exceeding income, sure, but for a valid reason.

    The people that were expert at losing money while not investing in Land Rover OR Jaguar development were.. FORD.
    It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
