Barelling down the highway
Down the Castlereigh highway one night, I was southbound just past Blackmans Flat, keeping to the speed limit and minding my own business. I remembered that ad, "Strange things happen on country roads", and a flashed thought of a head on (just a thought). Then I thought how I'd go slowing down if something happened. I slowed down to about 50 k as I did not like the idea. Well blow me down with a feather, about 30 secs later this numbskull in a sedan pulls out of a driveway on my left on a blind corner, and sidles across 2 lanes. Since I was going pretty slow, it was not hard to slow down. He then proceded to travel at 40 k down the Castlereigh.
Now in my opinion, having noted a few of these co-incidents, this is not an isolated random thought, but I have a suspicion that the thought is a packet of VLF pulses (maybe about 10 Hz, travelling at the speed of light), maybe involving the thalamus, and may be common to all mammals. It's just usually drowned out by our usual verbal communication. I think it may only be activated by heightened emotions and works best between parent and child.
