"In 1986, HMAS Perth visited Hobart as part of celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the Australian navy's foundation. On arriving in Hobart, the destroyer accidentally rammed a wharf damaging her bow and the two-storey CH Smith chandlers building, while narrowly missing a "Welcome" sign"
Life is all about perspective. Two lads on the wharf on the other side of this picture were rolling around laughing at this. All the Crew and Officers on Perth looked far more serious. The Captain may have spent the rest of his career safely on a shore base[bigwhistle]
Chatting with a mate about this yesterday. We had been Northern Hemisphere each winter for a few years. Hobart even in Spring in Summer uniform with Snow on Mt Wellington had some knocking knees as we sailed up to Hobart[biggrin]

Wash your hands still gents[biggrin]
Well in the Adelaide, outbreak the disease was apparently picked up from a Hard Surface. Exhaled droplets & or by physical contact landed on the surface & carried further. Great believer in washing hands & is the first thing we do as soon as we enter the house. Then I will scratch my arse & if necessary pick my nose. [bigrolf]
I hear some people even remove their clothes & shove them in the Washing Machine.
All those Ratings on the fo'c'sle appear to be blaming each other "It was your fault Bluey" "Nahh **** off, Smiler it wasn't me I wasn't here" "I heard Chiefy was told about the faulty quadrant but wanted to wait until we got back to GI"
etc etc etc.
Just because the guy on the Wharf yelled "Come In Number 38 your time is up" he didn't really expect it to come in that quick.
Not one of Australia's finest in action was it?
When officials in Utah on Monday revealed they had found a shimmering, metal structure deep in the Red Rock desert, they refused to say exactly where. It took just 48 hours for the first person to get there.
