In WW2 Aussie Soldiers apparently did that with Mills Bombs. (Hand Grenades.) Maybe some still do.[bigrolf]

Yes, I don't suppose they would have hand fed the fish & dropped it on their bonce when they swam close. Anywhere within a reasonable range would have knocked them for six in water by concussion.
