    1000s of satellites to see now makes one much easier to find. During 1980s,1990s Look Out or Lifebuoy duties on warships overnight, I was lucky to find one or two per week. Every early morning run or night I see them now. Just found a site showing the three main groups of them.

    Hint. Use the TABs at the top to move to GPS and the other two lost. There are 1000s+

    The network
    Eutelsat OneWeb
    Starlink
    and GPS
    What's interesting TRIVIA to me is Oneweb is uniform grids. Starlink is all over the place GPS is WAY out there!

    Enjoy

    At the Olympics before that, he was in the lead and got tangled up in a pileup and so lost. Poetic justice me thinks!

    Need for speed- Mach 20!

    Reading about a new radar that might be able to do some things that others may or may not be able to do over 600km. ( Jindalee anyone? )

    It chatted about detecting fast movers at mach 20!

    My little brain thought how long to move 100km at that speed and it may be 14.69 seconds. AI suggestion

    A hypersonic missile flying at Mach 20 would be traveling at approximately 24,500.88 km/h1.
    To calculate the time it would take for the missile to fly 100 km, we can use the formula:
    t = \frac{d}{v}
    where:

    • t is the time,
    • d is the distance, and
    • v is the velocity.

    Substituting the given values:
    t = \frac{100 \text{ km}}{24,500.88 \text{ km/h}}
    This gives us approximately 0.00408 hours. To convert this to minutes, we multiply by 60, resulting in approximately 0.2448 minutes or about 14.69 seconds. So, a hypersonic missile flying at Mach 20 would take approximately 14.69 seconds to fly 100 km. Please note that this is a simplified calculation and actual times may vary based on factors such as air resistance and altitude.

    Jindalee started in the 1950s is not triva really

    Now you''ll bugger off& invent some Hypersonic running shoes. Roight?

    I often wonder about the wisdom of publishing online the grid references for these things. A falsey maybe? If memory serves, there was a member here (??) that assisted in the design & installation of Jindalee uup norf.

    Well he ran a Series LR & I guess it wasn't designed on that. Correction 1706. It was a Member of the LR Club of SA.

    Have an XPS 15 and some of the keys have split in half and so need replacing. On investigation found you need to replace the whole key board not just the plastic key. To do this requires removing everything inside the laptop. Looked up what had to be done and price of the key board. Then looked up the price of a plug in key board. A bit of a pain to carry the plug in key board but pice of parts and value I put on my time made it an easy decision

    Yeah Steve, check out the trouble maker who started it.
    It's a dang shame more people aren't as responsible and grown up like, as we are.
