G'day Quiggers, do you have the LR or the RR 3.9 V8 auto?Quote:

However, I had a new 95 with a 3.9 in Sydney which got thru 80 litres for just 320 km, but on long runs which it did often, showed 14 litres /100.
Depends where you drive.
Some of the others here record much better figures than me, 'cause they really look after their LRs.
I had a look at ebay last night, good time to buy! There's plenty of RRs and Discos around for not much more than lunch money.
Cheers, GQ
For what I'm paying for the RR V8 auto, I could afford to put it on LPG but I'm not mad about LPG in cars, I would rather stick with straight petrol or biopetrol/petrol.
If your getting around 16 litres / 100km, I "may" be able to get round about the same, or better, as I live on the outskirts and seldom go into the city of Geelong. When I went to Melbourne last weekend, it was the first time I'd been in Melbourne in over nine years...have no reason to go there so I don't go.
Over the phone I did give the seller my word that I would buy the RR if it checked out okay and I'm one of those silly old codgers who’s word is his bond!
I believe our word is our most valuable commodity, and if my word's no good...well then what is good about me! Know what I mean!
I said I would meet the bloke at the Sorrento Ferry, he would pick me up and let me test drive and check the RR. Apparently he’s a car fanatic and has a 1964 Mustang that he doesn’t drive, only enters it in shows, he also has a Holden, don’t recall the version but it’s a pretty powerful car and Holden didn’t build many of them. Those blokes normally look after their cars as they treat them as investments.
Says he only bought the RR to tow the other cars to car shows on a tandem trailer and now that his work is sending him overseas for three years, he does not have room in his four car garage for the RR, so rather than leave it sitting outside in his backyard for three years, he thought he would sell it as he want’s money to buy a car when he gets set-up in London.
I guess I’ll go see the car, and if it checks out okay…well…being a man of my word I’ll have to buy it...won't I.
Cheers mate,
Bill from Corio.
