    Have you 'Fact-Checked' that ?

Is this a reputable Fact Checking site ? Seems they're talking about a Prophet not a Head of Department - Public Servant.
Did Dr. Fauci Predict a Serious Pandemic During Trump's Presidency - in 2017? - Truth or Fiction?

It seems to me that they are talking about someone who understood what had happened with previous epidemics and who wanted to highlight the cuts being made to the organisations that research such things and who wanted to warn about the potential result.

5g and POMs of all people

A gent or gents set fire to a mobile phone tower (S) . 5G covid conspiracy apparently I did post a even more silly one but it had to be in Current affairs due to the person involved.
It is a wacky world. Happily being quietly respectful in the Driveway at dawn in the morning.

I don't need ANZAC day to remind me of Australia's losses & skirmishes in all wars we were involved in.

I have a 13 Sqdn Air crew photo on my wall where I sit, of my Late Uncle John of 13 Sqdn Hudsons shot down by a Zero Fighter a couple of days after Japan entered the war, over the Celebes Sea, North of Australia. The plane [A16-67] went down on fire & his report back to base of this was the last that was heard from the AC. It was a bad day for 13 Sqdn with a number of Hudsons being shot down. This incident was included in the RAAF Official History & he gets a special Mention.

He was 21 years old. He had been in Adelaide's 27th Scottish Regiment but transferred to the RAAF. He was a Wireless Air Gunner on the Hudson

Alongside of his photo, I have one of my late Dad, Australian Army WO2 who never saw active service as he was apparently too valuable to send overseas him being a Motor Vehicle Instructor [Mechanical & Driving] He went North to Cairns & Townsville & elsewhere.

He was in the very early Citizen Military Forces prior to WW2.

I also remember those Uncles that served overseas & islands north of Australia (New Guinea etc ) in Egypt with the RAAF & Army

I also remember my late Father in Law [MBE WO1] who was at Dunkirk & then with the return to Europe on D.Day with REME. Prior to WW2 he was involved with setting up the big guns at various Forts in Singapore. (I used to take the mick out of him for facing those guns the wrong way ). He had joined the Royal Artillery as a Boy Soldier when an early teenager & his Father was also in the RA.

Post War he was attached to the Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery at St Johns Wood where the 6 Pdr guns were kept for the Royal Salutes in Hyde Park. London. 'er indoors still has his Medal Bar complete with the MBE. Have been to see 'The Ride' in Hyde Park twice as guests of the Troop for HM the Q's Birthday which is a fantastic display of Horse Teams with riders galloping on with Limbers & Guns, then the Dismount, the Royal Salute with guns, the Remount & gallop, back to Barracks. Well, maybe not all the way & today they are based at Woolwich [Arsenal] which was the Royal Artillery Barracks & St Johns Wood has been sold for housing. A quaint note. The Hats pictured on their website can also used as buckets for watering their horses & for loose feed. Salutes can be anywhere between 21 Guns to 62 guns fired depending on the occasion.

The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery | The British Army

Personally I have other direct relatives who joined up with the Australian Army in 1915/16 Six brothers went to France & four were killed two at Polygon Wood & elsewhere, the other two returned to South Australia to assist with running the family Market gardening/orchard business at Lenswood. Their names are on a monument there which was renovated 2 years ago as it had all got a bit overgrown & desolate.

So, I have a lot to think about tomorrow & I won't be standing at the driveway entrance with a candle or lamp 300m away but will be remembering them as I normally do each year. Not sure how I think about that, whether it is more bollocks creeping in to Australian Remembrance Services or not, or simply because of theCovid-19 situation. But I will be thinking about John, Fred. Gerry & other relations as well as the Lenswood Eglinton Brothers & the debt Australia owes them.

I knew a family at Lenswood who had apple orchards in the 70's.

Also knew a barman at the pub.

Lenswood today is still an important quality Apple & Pear growing district & line of sight from here is aprox.. 7km A quick sneeze you'd miss the township especially if you have C-19. Pub would probably have been at Woodside or Lobethal I have never noticed a pub at Lenswood.

Do you remember their name? I did a lot of Cold Store installations in that general area.

The New York Times did a very long story on all the warnings which were given and ignored. I have posted the link in the Trump thread in Current Affairs, as it is clearly political, if you want to read it. Numerous warnings were given and not acted on until after the virus had already spread widely in the USA.

Ron Collins? Dennis Collins? Ron ran a big semi truck a bit like V8I's Contracted for an Arc Welding mob GMF I think, one of those anyway. Dennis was Ron's son & while he did Orchard work was a bit of a liability to Ron as I recall. Could be a coincidence. But theirs was the first Cold Store I installed there, crap bore water for water cooled condenser notwithstanding. What fool decided that was good idea in that area, water was chockas with Lime.

Dear Ron died some years ago A lovely kind bloke, & his missus took off with a Truckie.

There were probably other Collins but you know how these small towns are.

It was Dennis. I should have remembered his name being same as mine.

I must have seen the cold room when it was brand new. I couldn't get over how crisp and crunchy an apple was fresh off the tree. Jonathons then.

Yes, Dennis was a revhead. He raced Formula Vees then and hillclimbed.....was it called Collinsgrove Hill Climb?

He had a Falcon GT Utility , and he removed the revlimiter on it , and saw the speedo needle pointing to mph, I guess something over 150mph , never really know.
