No need for an apology. I find the internet has killed the idea of critical thinking for the current generation. It's like a machine that gives an answer and is the 'truth.' This terrifies me. It's not shocking enough that the event happened and terrorists destroyed buildings, killing people with hijacked planes in the name of their religious beliefs and in response to US foreign policy. This is banal enough without having to come out with the type of bull**** people like Alan Jones rant on about.

Like these NRA nut job supporters who deny the massacre of school children at Sandy Hook. These individuals are so ****ing mental they face the families of the victims and accuse them of being paid actors in part of a false flag operation to push the anti-gun agenda.

Where is the evidence that the Internet has killed critical thinking?

I can't imagine how much more difficult and constrained my research at uni would have been without instant access to hundreds if not thousands of journals online.

Maybe there is an under-appreciation of the potentially advanced information processing skills of the current generation as they adapt to their digital environment and the dramatic increase of information available to them?

I wonder if there was a similar generational shift following the proliferation of the printing press?
