Given there would have had a Egyptian pilot on board who essentially takes command of the ship, the Egyptians rather than the ships crew are most likely culpable in this accident - typical of third world country governments. The Japanese will no doubt try to negotiate but I expect the ship to be laid up for years unless a team steals the ship back.
Not sure which lake it is now hold up in but they are near the bottom so the ship could probably get out before the authorities are aware of it - follow on actions could be a worry though.
Maybe time for another Suez crisis with hopefully the US supporting their allies this time.
