What did you do in your Man Cave / Femme Den today?

I thought I’d kick this off as a fun place to just show what we get up to in the Shed etc.

I’ve been plying with a new toy lately, fitting up the accessories, all the while working on modifying the one behind it.

So now I have this to help..

And the D4 has been getting some upgrades slowly...

    What have you been doing?

I have been building an American style offset smoker.
It is about 2200mm long, 200ish KG, and should have approx 2 square meters of cooking grill space.
    Low'n'Slow, come at me bro.

I wonder what the neighbours think when you point that at them?

I'll appease them by inviting them over once.
    Only once.

...then leave them begging for BBQ. I might entertain the idea if they supply the booze.

We built a new three bay shed - and then filled it with furniture and a camper restoration project. So it will be next year before I get to do anything. What did you do in your Man Cave / Femme Den today?

You just need to build a new shed .... this fixes most problems.

technically I'm still building the 99.99% completed shed:
Making the double doors for the side entrance, but funds have basically dried up.
Now lots of time, but stuck with not being able to acquire hardware.

Door frames are 50mm treated sleepers.

But it's too hard(guesswork) chopping timber precisely on the ground(with my bung knee), so had to make a workbench for the drop saw.

Easy 'nuff to do stuff when you have all the time in the world. had to spend about $15 on some angle I didn't have in size.
Makes it so much easier now to accurately chop stuff.

ps. drop saw is a cheapie(not quite Ebay) .. got from one of the large tool shops(can't recall if it was Sydney or Total).
Works OK(ish) .. actually more "ish" than OK. Need to be very deliberate when cutting, it has a mind of it's own.
Chucked the (probably) useless grinding wheel, and paid a few more $s for a name brand wheel.
But also bought a all purpose blade to chop wood when required as well.
Not overly impressed by this multi blade tho.
Evolution brand, distorts and buckles far too easily when it gets warm, not hot .. just warm!
Easy to touch warm, and goes all wonky, let it cool for 2-3mins and it straightens out again.
Does the job .. well, has done for now .. but not impressed by it's quality.

If you want to make a HUGE mess, I found the cheap diamond masonry blades sold at ALDI fit into those cheap drop saws too. I suggest outside and a breathing apparatus if you try it though (I only cut a dozen pavers, that was more than enough for me ).
