SubscriberI have a sneaking suspicion the points thing might be a system whereby (on other boards) users can pay for use of a forum, and pay x $ for a given number of points. These tick down with use, and when get to zero forum cannot be used until more money is paid.
Just a theory, and an idea I'm sure Incisor would heartily dislike.

which may be tied in to the option under your user control panel of "purchase paid subscriptions".
