I would have thought that would have killed route rats and mousesacks.

I still have about 10,000l of rainwater so hopefully that little bit of rain will save me using too much of this on the veggie patch

I usually get about 3,000l per inch (25mm) in my tanks So I need at least 8 inches of rain to fill them all up at the moment and I can't see that happening for another month or so yet.
Just ordered 14,000 litres of water to be delivered tomorrow. Main tank is only one-third full, so we can't rely on rain next week doing the job. Rain would be a bonus.

I have carted water this year and the problem with ordering/carting water you end up with that crappy scheme water in your tanks instead of rainwater unfortunately

    Hi,
Could you run a rainwater only tank with a line to a kitchen tap for cooking/drinking water?
Have seen that in South Australian houses.
Nothing worse than a scummy skin on a cup of coffee,
    Cheers

    Hi,
We have a brilliant water supply in Hobart, most of My Wellington is the catchment as well as the upper reaches of the Derwent River.
It is filtered, sterilised etc but seldom smells of Chlorine.
In the camper I have a Hot/Cold mixer tap, but no hot water cylinder. Instead is a pair of filters in series, 5 and 1 micron, or the 1 can be swapped out for a carbon filter.
So "Hot water = Filtered water".
We are fairly choosy with the water put into the tank and have never had to revert to bottled water which some travellers seem to buy.
    Cheers

I loathe the whole concept of bottled water. I vaguely remember, years ago, you could by a tin of 'Mountain Air' or something similar. Same scam.

    Hi,
    Ditto!
Some years ago I took the sister in law down to the Hartz Mtn for a day walk along the alpine plateau.
We stopped for fuel at Geeveston before heading up the dirt roads to the top.
Madame had bought a bottle of Hartz Mountain water from the shop.
An hour or so later we were splashing through megalitres of the same stuff on the track.
Seemed a total waste of money,

On another occasion we had stopped to see friends in the Kalbarrie Caravan park. At the back of the park was an oped shed with a small bottling plant operating, and pallet loads of bottled Kalbarrie Spring Water being produced for the local tourist retail market.
Yep, tap water, run through a filter and into a bottle.
I wonder how to calculate the percent profit on the major ingredient?
Better than spinning straw into gold I bet.
    Cheers
