Some intense weather forecast for NZ over this coming Sunday and Monday from that low pressure system currently over Tas.

Even though that low is forecast to be well south of NZ by Sunday and Monday it is forecast to intensify so much that the ensuing pressure difference between it and the high northeast of NZ will see gale force winds across much of the length of NZ and as it heads south, bring snow at sea level to southern parts of NZ. This event is being forecast as having the most pressure difference across the country for some time. Sunday is forecast to be 1024hPa northeast of NZ and 955hPa south of NZ.

Watching with interest. Gotta love the equinoctial winds...

    10 and showers today - 10-15mm expected
    10 tomorrow but less rain
14 on Sunday, hoping to be able to clean up some ewes that are a bit dirty before it gets to 22 on Thursday with showers. Not much fun with full wool sheep and waiting on shearers and dry weather.

Here in Westlake we had some rain last night around 9.30pm about 2 minutes worth along with enough thunder for the dog to want to come inside. Blue sky & plenty of wind from the west & cool today & ground was dry this morning.
