Not a great place to be travelling through when these sort of storms hit and all the floodways fill up.
Then you have to contend with all the muzzles that hatch out a week or so later.
We were on West Coast Patrol on Ardent, back in the 80's, alongside Dampier, we had to sail because of a cyclone . Then another cyclone came in from further North. We had to run with the swell, 15 metres of it. Steering with main engines, trying not to go sideways down the swell. Did that for about 12 hours. Another boat Aware, I think, sent a message to say she was taking water fwd. One of the upper deck vents to the fwd void space was rusted out underneath, [ poor maintenance] and even though the vent was closed off, still took water each time she shipped a greenie. We shepherded her to safety, then carried on our patrol. Ardent, the angry ant, to the rescue again.

Where's all the flooding rain we've been promised? Just a few light to moderate showers here.

15.2 mm here since midnight. Looks like we're not going to get enough to bring the dam up to even half.

Shouldn't have got my hopes up.

Yeah, I got all my electrical tools above any flood level, hassled the son to park his dunny- dore up the hill, a more accurate reporting would be good. Don't know if its the TV channels looking for sensationalism, or the BOM. Crying wolf makes it harder to get people to take it seriously.

Seems the south coast had more significant falls and a bit of a blow.
I'm about 170m above your elevation Bob, there's plenty of room for your 'van here if you need to keep your toes dry.

Well, I'm not complaining mind, rather not have all that weather. I've set up a place for the van down the back, put it on sleepers over blue metal, should keep it out of trouble. If we get any real hot nights we can sleep in it in air conditioned comfort. [ gotta have a plan. ]

O No , went down this morning to check how the two tanks beside the garage were going after last nights showers, only to discover the last time I pumped water into the pool from the tanks & emptied the tanks I didn't turn off the valve between the tank & pump so what water went into the tanks last night ended up in the garden. The BOM is predicting good rain the next three days , we'll see.

A few years ago, I purchased a new pump for the two, bottom shed tanks. I installed it in what could be termed ' Failing light'. Now, because of this light, or lack thereof, I managed to place the pressure clamp ring for a pipe coupling, arse about, which defeated the purpose.
During the night the coupling failed and the new pump distributed around 35,000 litres into the bottom paddock. Luckily I came across it early morning or I reckon the new pump may have been knackered.

Surely you've got some out of the last bit to come through, Ian?
As I type, we are smack on 132mm for the month, so far.

Good steady rain overnight, I won't be dying of thirst this year. All tanks are full and the ground is soft. Hello Mr Victa.
