I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Got information (indirectly) today from my great nephew who lives (from memory) about 20km out of Geraldton. He has escaped virtually unscathed apart from no power and a near miss of a tree on his shed, but he is staggered by the surrounding destruction. All his neighbors seem to be a lot worse off, and there are trees all over the road and powerlines down all over the place.

Cyclone sees Australian Defence Force sent to Northampton in WA to help residents rebuild

Cyclone sees Australian Defence Force sent to Northampton in WA to help residents rebuild - ABC News

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has been sent to Western Australia's Mid West region to help thousands of people get back on their feet after Tropical Cyclone Seroja carved a path of destruction through the state.

    Services slowly restored

About 28,600 homes and businesses are still without power with Western Power working to re-energise the Geraldton substation today.

Western Power has deployed emergency response generators to support emergency services, while additional generators have been rolled out by businesses and private enterprise.

"There's significant damage to the infrastructure which could take several days up to a couple of weeks to restore in some locations," Assistant Commissioner Waters said.

Massive storm here in Westlake this afternoon . In the middle of it was almighty crack of thunder, our smart TV stopped working bas well as serge arrester it was plugged into. Couple of hours later found water in the draws in pantry & water on glass stove top dripping from the extractor fan. Looks like I will spending lots of time on the phone tomorrow trying to get through to our insurance company . I will also give my roofing mate a call to see if he can have a look. The wind was pretty strong I thought palm trees in house below us were going to end up in his pool .
