Hang out for an Evenrude, John. [wink11]
Bogged on the way home from town. had to walk about a kilometre home. Up hill, carrying perishables. 27 degrees and swarming mosquitoes.
And a picture tells the story.
When I was a little younger it had been rainy for a few days. The mail has come and wanted to collect so attempted to drive down to the main gate where the old fridge acted in its new role as mail box. Mail wa so twice a week in good weather less often if it rained.
Made it about two thirds of the way there so we found out when a very muddy person appeared at the shed we were in out of the rain looking for the new tractor. Flash thing with glass cab that was air conditioned. Mum not impressed with this cab as thought dad was getting soft and extravagant
Fires up the tractor and goes off to recover the Land Rover (a series 2 ex army SWB) happily waving to us from the cab
Half an hour later he returns covered in more mud than before and walking again. Asking why not in the tractor towing the Land Rover only produced comments using words that were reserved for very special occasions which it seemed this was one
Was a couple of weeks before was dry enough to recover both which we discovered were both in up to their axles. The damage to the road in to the house was still visible for a couple of years. We learnt not to make comment as we drove over it
Exactly!
My 2a is not running after I drowned it going through the creek on Monday and got towed home, bendix is stuck, so starter will have to come off (I remember too late the wading plug is not in place). But even then I don't want to get both bogged. I am not game to even think of moving the tractor.
Next door is coming over this morning to see if he can help. But the only vehicle he is game to move is his four wheel motorbike. We'll have a go with a high lift jack and timber, but I am doubtful. At least I should be able to get the groceries. He is talking about bringing his dozer over, but I don't want him to get it bogged as well.
And it rained overnight.
