I love the sound of rainwater running into half empty tanks. Still need a lot more though before I would cancel the water delivery due this week.
Glad I cleaned the gutters and fitted new gutter guard last week. We also just yesterday laid a new topping of crushed concrete on the driveway, so this rain should make it set. I also buried grass runners in some bare patches of lawn and we have planted in the vegie garden. So we might have gotten the timing right, for once.
Hope the rest of the country gets some like this. We need about a week of steady, soaking rain.
Have the green tree frogs come out yet?

I had to use a scraper and the Gurney. What a delightful time was had.

It would depend on the species, numbers and proximity to the house as to how much crud is accumulated.
Yes, the leaves and crud were already in ours because some of the gutter guard was broken. Now cleaned out. I still need to fit gutter guard to the new shed. We're also installing extra filters.

Also found this lovely fellow snoozing in a dry spot in the chook shed and took him for a drive. He was very docile. So I guess that confirms the snake repellent the wife bought doesn't work.

No rain here today. Frogs still quiet. They usually get into full voice with a nice bit of rain. Mick, that is a beautiful python. Is his name Trouser?

He was lovely. The wife, who is terrified of snakes, thinks I'm brave to grab him behind the head, but actually he didn't even resist. The weather was cool and he was docile. Good size too - maybe about 1.5 metres. He's now off enjoying the bush around the dam.

One geriatric indoor cat, completely useless for hunting.

Where is the rain? All we're getting up here is clouds.

Supposed to be more here tomorrow. Now the monsoon has broken up North, you should be seeing some good rain soon. The seasons slowly turning, just a couple of months late. With the cat, The snake is probably looking for an easy meal. It may be back, especially if it is looking for a nice dry place to have a litter.
