We were promised a Good Wet Season.
It has looked like being a bit of a fizzer, until Friday we had only had a few storms & 1 days rain in December.
BUT, since Friday it has bucketed down, not sure how much as my weather station is US, but we have had a good drop.
So we have the enjoyment of walking around in mud instead of dust for awhile & I truly look forward to the fly population increasing from 5 trillion to 20 quad-trillion.
Nearly forgot what green looked like.

We had 53mm at the farm over Friday/Saturday and a little less in Yass. We emptied the gauge on Saturday morning and between then and lunchtime got 25mm.

This last lot got us 29.5mm over three days. Nice gentle rain. And everything is green. Its not supposed to be green here at this time of year, its supposed to be brown!

But at least the probability of fire is low.

Same here with the rain, very small drops, just lots of them. I opened the front gates to go out on Saturday morning and got absolutely soaked in the time it took me to get out of the car twice. Almost no runoff at the farm, it looks like it all soaked straight in.

    Patchy rain/storms here yesterday.
I was at te BIL's place yesterday helping him to remove some giant cotton palms using the winch on my D2a to make sure that they fell where they were supposed to when we cut them down and all up only 1mm of rain fell for the day at his place.
I drove the 7K's back to my place and there was water everywhere and I had 31mm in the gauge, 30mm differance in 7K's.

From last Tuesday, 23rd we are up to 195mm, with a bit more drizzle as I type.

Our dam overflow is running, for the first time in three years.

There was a decent bolt of lightning the night before last, north of mine, west of yours Saitch. The storm again hammered Springfield, but was only a brief, light mist here.

12mm in two hours this side of the ditch. 63mm so far this year. Soil moisture has gone from 26% to 26.5% in the local clay loam on the council monitoring site.

Here in Westlake the other day when Brisbane was reported to have had 70mm , we had 1mm . Was a very disappointing storm , only managed to up set the dog, Yet a business in Sumner Park reported on Facebook there workshop was flooding , so very patchy .

Certainly is patchy. We're well over the 200mm now and the BIL, who is 7 kms away, as the crow flies, has had 90mm.
