Here in Westlake Qld we had 30mm yesterday morning & another 100mm over night last night . It's a bit brighter this morning but still raining & more rain & storms predicted . Have pumper 100mm of water out of the pool last two days so will be a visit to pool shop after the rain has gone for a few hundred $ for salt & other chemicals .

Australian farmers set to harvest largest crop but recent rain has brought pricing pain - ABC News
I don’t know where all this is coming from. The yield was awesome but we are getting plenty of reports that much won’t or can’t be harvested. Around me there is lots and lots that will be ploughed in as it’s beyond harvest.
I think this is optimistic journalism/reporting

Our profitability is based on grain price at the purchasing end and we are predicting very high prices next year

Recent news here suggests that a lot of the SE Australian crop will be unsaleable - the market for feed grain is limited, and a lot of it is damaged beyond use for anything else due to the rain. Northern NSW and Qld got a lot off before the rain, but the bulk of this years bumper crop will be from WA.

188.5mm in November - last time there was this much in a month was June 2018, and that is the only other one since 2008 - earlier rainfall charts are put away.

Edit: Looked at this again & realised I put the wrong month!

Dusted off the crab pots, deep holes at the mouth of the creeks should be holding crabs , a silver lining & all that.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

Another silver lining, Bob. Leslie Dam is discharging excess water, no longer has water to be trucked in to keep the roses watered.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

We have had thunder and lightning with high humidity since midday. About 5pm the rain started and really pelted down. Some very close lightning and immediate thunder, brilliant light and explosions shaking the ground.
Very surprised we still have power.
    Cheers
