I am sure it was an ark, Roger. Or perhaps an arch to raise the bridge a bit higher?
IMHO too many academics are doing PHD's or other 'research' on weather/climate and coming up with numerous minor causes.
By the way, didn't someone build an ark some time ago because a flood warning had been issued?![]()

Thanks John, spelling corrected.
It's strange how auto correct only works when you don't need it! .......... and when you do need it, there's always John or Ron!![]()

Yarra walk this morning. Its dropped back a bit. The water had been up 2 metres above the current flow here. (Westerfold park Templestowe.) I will put my canoe on it for some fun later this afternoon. Its oddly much safer a metre or 4 up as all the rocks in the rapids are far below. Fast drift for 32km should be fun. I will carry the canoe past "Dights Falls". I am not insane!
2013 view!
Sand bags at friends place in Echuca got abandoned along with their house as rivers in that area are going to peak Monday morning. Goulburn River and Campaspe River are still rising. Avoca river seems to be settling.
The forecast""Going into Thursday, that rainfall is going to increase, broadly 20 to 50 millimetres across Victoria, with the potential for some heavier falls on and north of the divide, more likely in the north-east of the state.
"There is going to be a chance of thunderstorms on Thursday, mostly on or north of the divide across northern and central parts of Victoria, and this could push up rainfall totals locally as well.""
With everything very wet already 20-50 ml might flood a bit again.
Keep safe everyone.
Really bucketed down again here this afternoon. I haven't formally measured it (do that tomorrow morning), but the inner cylinder of the gauge is full (25mm) and there is about 12mm depth in the outer casing, probably about another 10mm, so around 35mm.
And looking at the radar, there is another storm heading this way right now!

Tin Can Bay, just South of Fraser Island, as at 1900, had received 252mm since 0900.
'sit bonum tempora volvunt'
Goulburn out of Eildon just dropped by 10,000 megs. It's not rising here.
Measured only 32mm this morning, but still not a hope of going anywhere in anything with wheels today! Although the sun is actually shining right now - or rather was when i started typing this sentence!

we've had around 100 in the last 36hrs...
doesnt help my already saturated transpiration pits.....glad there's only 2 of us here.
The river is coming down slowly - but is still nearly two metres over the bridge. Not a lot of rain today (so far!), and only 5mm yesterday. But it needs to dry out a bit rather than keep getting more before I can move anything with wheels! And today I notice mushrooms? growing in the lawn.
And the Macquarie at Dubbo is approaching moderate flood level, having been above minor since about 0800 this morning. The Mitchell Highway has water over the road at Bakers Swamp south of Wellington and also at multiple locations between Dubbo and Narromine.
