Unless something lies ( or lys ) dead dormant for months at time I don’t think it’s sheep blow fly
The missus reheated the dinner from last night
It went from no ( or is it know ) flys ( or flies ) to them coming out of nowhere
The kids couldn’t even track down the origin (and they were running around like a blow flie ( fly) hit with the spray
Only when the slow cooked meal comes into play we get the things with wings that buss around
I don’t like to spray insecticide for a petty reason like this but it’s becoming a joke around the house

I’m gunna have to put my foot down
    No more slow cooker
    Steak and chips only
    (Maybe the occasional parmi)
    Roast on sundays

Reaction not very good from the Cook
Maybe I bring a goat home and try that in the slow cooker

Have look Gav. This is the bugger I'm talking about.

It'll be attracted to your steak or roast just the same, so you'd better wolf it down quick. Maybe some flytraps outside around the house would keep them out.

    Don.
    That looks like the buggers
But only come out for the slow cooker
I might get one or two hovering around occasionally but as soon as the slow cooker warms up they just flock in
Anything up to about 20 of them
I’ll knock them all off and more come
I’m in belief it’s the slow cooker itself
May be why we got given it 10 years ago from the sister in law ☹️

Weird.....what happens if you just boil water in the slow cooker?

What happens if you cook a stew in a "stewing pot"?

we, "I" , I am the cook , do a lot of cooking with garlic , ginger and olive oil. Includes fish, lamb, pork and beef in most of the meals . The house often smells like an Italian restaurant.

    No flies.

Perhaps because I throw mothballs around the ceiling to keep those bastard asian geckos out of the house. That may or may not be why we don't have flies. Funny, every so often SWMBO , makes up one of those awful fly attracting concoctions in a plastic bottle , not because we have flies but because she can. It ends up very quickly becoming a disgusting looking mess with hundreds of dead flies in the bottle.

So , I'm saying there must be an attractant....like the stinking plastic disgusting bottle that I soon throw out.

I pulled apart the cooker and found a bit of oily crud between the bade and the inner heating plate
Cleaned it out and the missus done a cook up last night and not a fly in site
