    Again, Apple? Some iMacs are.
Yeah all Apple. AFAIR the Airport thing had a range of maybe 150m and was also set as a backup.

I can't remember why I stopped using it and started to use the mobile to access the net. I hadn't owned it for long. Had two landline connections at the time as well.

The Uniden walk around phone(s?) had great range also and probably were used for no more than a year.

    cheers, DL

    Medicare Bulk Billing Incentive 10990

My gripe with Medicare Bulk Billing Incentive 10990 which cut off at exactly 16 year old is due to the fact those people are mostly still at school /uni. Not many silly sods join Navy at 15yo like someone I know

I have a letter asking people impacted to chat to their federal politicians about it. Had it for 18 years now Clearly a fail on my part.

A Doctor chased by Medicare over some 10990 claims which may not have been valid. ( wasn't me )

Not really at issue for us IF my staff do it correctly.

2nd gripe is the requirement to bill to Head of Family for 16 year olds- That can be a privacy issue.

It's Sir Humphrey Appleby at his very best removing Medicare Bulk Billing Incentive10990 and requiring private billing to Head of Family not the 16 year old!

So long as you are aware of where the buck stops.

I know who pays Des- Me sadly. Bucks go elsewhere 20 years of inflation and almost nothing given to GPs is clearly no going to end well.

    Fully Grumpy old bugger today

Email today re covid 19 from " Australian Government Department of Health<noreply.covidcomms@health.gov.au>"COVID-19 positive again?Just like other illnesses, you can get COVID-19 more than once.Oral treatments can be taken as many times as needed if you're at high-risk of serious illness. Speak to a GP today to find out if you're eligible.Find more about access and eligibility here."

All doctors are flat out working for MBS rates that a 20 years out of date. We are booking Covid positive patients who are eligible for AntiVirals in Morning tea, Lunch times and after work getting 100% of those positive for Anti Virals covered!

My bug bear is the government or others saying " Speak to a GP today to find out if you're eligible."
Our phones are still in meltdown. Mental health is worse with removal of some coverage for funding by the Federal government for psychologists. My staff , I and staff at other GP Doctors clinics have to pay and deal with the massive number of phone calls poorly thought out press releases cause.

Not to mention that anywhere outside a capital city, a GP appointment (including telehealth) will take at least a week - and many are not seeing new patients.

I really feel for country Doctors and staff. Extra work directly created by the idiots who get paid suggesting just ring your Doctor for rubbish like this impacts directly on the already over stretched crew everywhere and especially in country where phones are possibly more important than my place!

Yes. I avoid phoning my doctor as much as I possibly can - usually 20-30 minutes on hold. Of course this is an improvement on a two hour round trip, but the net result is I probably see the doctor less often than I should.

Ring and make a phone apportionment and the Doctor will call you! Bookings work for me.

The several hundred of people trying other ways to the Doctor create a lot of work.

Two big issues with Phone appointments. 1 the Doctor must have seen you in the last X- Medicare rulz!!! and 2. Doctors often have to poke or prod or measure/ assess to do help as well of course. I am often amazed at people asking for a phone appointment for things only a up close and personal appoint can help with. That frequently makes 2 appointments when phone one is a waste of time.

That is not a happy outcome for anyone struggling to see the Doc.

During COVID had my doctor ring me as thought it time checked blood pressure. Had not been done for over 12 months and prescription was due for renewal

Unfortunately I do not have a machine for checking blood pressure at home and they were not seeing anyone in person so could not use theirs

That was a short phone consultation
