Yes. I'm pretty sure it applies to all trailers over 750kg loaded - i.e., anything with brakes. Most common issues are lights and tyres, but he also checks brakes and wheel bearings for obvious free play, as well as a visual check of coupling and safety chain. I assume that he also looks for any obvious issues such as serious rust.
