I have an excellent record of giving up smoking.
I've done it so many times I'm nearly an expert.
I think I will have to give up giving up because I have been unable to last longer than 2 weeks.

The Roadhouse was broken into last night/this morning.
This has made my usually pleasant self really bloody GRUMPY!
A whole day cleaning up, stock counts, repairing trashed doors, looking at CCTV & talking to the police.
All this for a bunch of kids that nothing will be done about!
My usually Leftie self is feeling like shooting someone right now.

Works until they can fight back then .... I do not need to fight back. Running came naturally to me (until I broke everything ) Honestly never felt hitting my crew was as effective as a discussion.

We all know that but seems the authorities see differently.

Maybe they are all on a different planet.

Surely, as they go softer and softer, they can see the bad results, but nothing seems to be done

Working at Youth centres and other places of Paradise, have seen the downhill spiral over the last 30yrs,particularly the last 10.

I used to get something similar when I was a kid as did my brothers.

We used to get the buckle end of my old man's Shoulder strap from his Sam Browne Belt. We got the waist belt when he had time to think about it beforehand. I found shoving my hands behind my back covering my arse while running through the back door didn't make a lot of difference because what missed your arse got your hands. Navigating a couple of concrete steps & being airborne while doing so, certainly tested my agility.

Still here though & as Paul said we probably deserved it otherwise he wouldn't have had reason. He wasn't a sadist.

Just reminded of "The Cuts" with the probably 1/2" diam cane the teacher kept cunningly concealed behind a picture frame.

Geezus they made one's hand & fingers swell up to buggery.

Grade 7 last day before breakup guess who found & pinched the cane & cut it to unusable pieces?

Weird, I sent the same Class teacher a postcard writ out while travelling to Essendon Melbourne on an ANA DC4 in the days when they supplied postcards in the seat pockets instead of the crap you get these days, if yer lucky.


The fear of this bloke had preceded him for years while at that school but afterwards I understood what he was trying to do, ie, make decent citizens out of his pupils. Simple. I believe he succeeded in most cases that I know of.
