    And lonely.

I went to our GD's birthday a couple of years ago in the city & at a restaurant.

Arrived their to find a Total Blackout due to the failure of some unfinished Powerwork in the area.

Bee wasn't in in trouble as he had grabbed a small LED torch out of the cupboard as he was leaving the house. Why? Dunno, but it must have been something telling him there was trouble afoot in the big smoke.

In a black Restaurant it was great to pull this out of his jacket & light up the joint.

Unscrewed the Lens cap, stand it upright et Voila, a bright candle that lit up the place.

Decent LED torches are so small & inexpensive it really pays to have one in your kick.
Bastards didn't give me a discount or a free drink.

Thank you Baden Powell, I heard you all those years ago .

LEDs are so hard to blow out, at a birthday do, though.

It tends to bring the party to an abrupt end, but.

You didnt have your old reliable Halide leak lamp in the car?

Shame on you,it comes in handy for many things on a dark night, including lighting the place up.

That is once the batteries in the LED torch give up the ghost

Yeah, ok so long as the Metho holds out, Paul.
That's true, but it wasn't my birthday so it didn't matter. GD is old enough to not bother too much either. Without said Candle one couldn't read the menu & that is what was annoying.

Fwiw, she is now trapped in Sydney & was about to move to a new Melbourne Law practice after having her belongings sent off a few weeks ago. Then the lock downs started. Still don't know what she is doing for digs but I'm sure she'll be ok.

Doesn't seem that long ago she was rushing around the garden here collecting Easter Eggs as a kid.

Blimey, just where do the years go & so fast?

The plus side is that everyone gets the message though & saves on the Drinks bill. Job Done.

Lights never go out down there. Never lonely either.

I'm GRUMPY at oversized, bloated, fat American Utes! AND they are Utes, not trucks.
I have just spent 2 weeks with SWMBO & kids in Cloncurry & somebody must have been having a super special on something called a RAM.
The things are huge! Park beside one then try to open your door, they hang a foot over the sides of the parking bay.
Passing one on a narrow road, one of you is in the dirt.
Try to look around one to overtake - best of luck with that!
When they park in a center bay they stick out either end.
I had a bit of a look at one, the doors are 3 foot thick, they bulge out everywhere & every thing inside is oversize. Just about need a 2 way to talk to your passenger they are that far away from you.
    Silly bloody car.
    EOR (End of Rant).
