Many years ago I was service manager for a Daihatsu dealership , when the first of the Daihatsu Charade came I had to take my work boots off to drive them other wise I would get accelerator & brake or clutch & brake at the same time.

I used to lust for certain cars & being a motor mechanic gave me the opportunity to drive some of them . Some were a pig to work on & niceeeee to drive , some good to work on but a pig to drive & a some the drive made up for being a pig to work on . I think the worst were the Rolls Royce they were a pig to work on & the drive there was no feeling no noise , just felt like sitting in a big lounge chair watching some thing boring on TV , didn't like them at all. The Rover 3500SE SD1 they had lots of faults but the there drive ability was something else , wish I had kept that car.

You need to have smaller Fairy like feet. Did the same when my GD took me for a spin in some tiny Mitsy car she inherited. I wished to drive it out to the road for her but each time I tried to depress the clutch it fair put me through the screen. A visiting friend from the UK also had a problem converting from his uk car to one he hired from the Airport on his arrival. We drove down to the Murray Mouth & he got ballsed up when he hit the "clutch" about a thousand times. Problem was it was an Auto.

Weird, 'cos when I converted from the Manual Discovery to an Auto it was seamless.

I found the same pedal problem when having the dubious pleasure of driving an Alpha, whilst wearing my 'Blunnie' work boots. Might have been OK in a pair of pointy toed, Forzieri, designer shoes!

The greatest "conversion" issues I encountered was with girly, automatic Scanias, swapping back and forth between clutch and clutchless models. Going for the gear lever is also a bit like stepping up to a nonexistent step.

I once had a P6 Rover 2000, Manual. Dad had a P6 3500 Auto. Thank goodness for seat belts I say.
    Cheers, Billy.

    Kimberley and Agnes Water

What is it with people who put an 'S' on the end of these places?
Surely, if they're interested in the regions, they've read enough to have the correct spelling?
Perhaps a minor issue, but I find it annoying.............and it makes me grumpy!
