Jeez, that's terrible. Sorry to hear of your loss. Some things are hard to replace, but at least you have your life.
Back in communications after loss of power, phone, and burnt satellite cables.
Fire came through here on the 30th December, managed to save the house but lost shed/workshop.
Shed unfortunately contained a lifetime collection of trade tools and 3 series Landrovers and the P38.
Biggest loss is the beloved Series 1, that's going to be hard to come to terms with.
The fire northeast of Gelantipy started by a lightening strike was traveling south when a wind change we were expecting at 6:00pm happened at 2:00pm. We know there was a 10 vehicle CFA strike team working on it, but I found out later that when the change happened they were ordered to leave.
I'm not the only one. the whole length of the road between here and almost to Bairnsdale is burnt. Buchan, Bruthen, Sarsfield have lost houses. I counted 15 that were visible from the road.
A big disaster.
I still have a Defender and the army spec S3.
Tractor with a 1000L tank and a pump was very handy until the pump came loose and went under the wheel.

My sentiments are as above. Still, it's a hard knock losing those beauties.
Yes I know things could have been a lot worse.
55 years a CFA member will have helped. I wasn't unprepared.

So sorry to hear, but great you and your house survived.
I'll be visiting friends in Tambo Upper next week, they came very close to having their place destroyed.
Sorry to hear about the tools and Series, etc.
OOPS: I forgot to put in a comment that I had in my head - having never been through that, I don't know how one recovers from the losses.
But look on the bright side, the P38A is gone!![]()

We P38A owners/ex-owners know the pain of ownership.

Sorry to hear about your losses, these fires have been a real bastard , that's for sure. You and yours are still here, and that's a plus.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Wow, so sad to hear.. the loss of a lifetime of memories and beloved items and motor vehicles is a huge blow.
Very much happy to hear you are ok physically, please take care of yourselves and , I know it is a cliche and totally insufficient, but it could also be a whole lot more tragic..
