    Enforced Holiday.

So, for the first time for 3 years I decided to have a proper couple of weeks off.
We have recently purchased an old house in Cloncurry & SWMBO decreed that she would move to Cloncurry, put 4 of the kids into school here & that we would visit each other on alternate week-ends.
On the 20th we pack up the D2 & Deleca with kids, bags, a few cats & all the other stuff we need & do the 6 hour drive to Cloncurry.
First problem, the house has been broken into, TV, PS4, car fridge, lap top & a few minor items missing (including SWMBO's nighties??) so that is a pain.
Then, on the 21st it starts raining & raining & raining then it decided to rain!
I am supposed to drive back to Doomadgee tomorrow, that's not going to happen as the road is closed in 4 places. This morning I phoned the boss & he, I hope joked, that there were contract penalties for being late back to work?
He also said good! Do me good to have a bit longer off. I think the fact he owes me over 1000 hours TOIL & 5 years worth of leave worries him.
Anyway, I'm googling Road Reports constantly & will get back to Doomcity when I can, SWMBO is happy about the fact I can't get back so I am trying not to make it obvious that I actually want to get back to work.

PS The old house leaks, another job to put on the list.

There is no chance that you'd move to the Boring 'burbs then Jonsey, with such excitement going on?

    It's all good.
From 2012 to 2016 we did years of me either doing remote relief work or working in Doomadgee.
I would do 3 or 4 weeks straight then go home to, then, Ravenshoe for a few days with the family.
So, this is even closer together & we have a very strong relationship. I am also in the happy place that if needed I can drop everything & get to the family in 6 hours.
    It will work?

The title "Enforced Holiday" had me thinking that the wallopers had caught up with you for lifting a few cleanskins or tickling the till.

Are you going to be in the Curry next week Paul? I'll be passing through about Wednesday and you owe me a cuppa.

I don’t know, his wife lost her nighties...I can’t see how that’s a bad thing!

Things must be crook in dear old Doomadgee.
The Boss phoned me up & said "Get back ASAP!" So after a bit of mucking about I got back to him to say no room on flights until Friday 14th.
Next thing he phones me to tell me he has orginised a Charter flight for Monday.
So, the extended holiday is coming to an end, been enjoyable though. I have drunk much, done many minor jobs about the old house & enjoyed some quality time with SWMBO (she did buy more Nighties unfortunatly).
Since I have been away the Roadhouse has been broken into several times, the town has had a riot, a house or 2 has been deliberatly burned down & it's all generally gone to poo!
    Nice to be needed?
