Drone flying in National Parks & Parks Vic zones.

I recently purchased a drone and, in the process of learning to use it for best cinematic effect, have viewed heaps of YouTube video's with drone footage.
There are dozens & dozens of aerial video's of Billy Goat Bluff, Blue Rag Range, Wonnangatta, etc, all in the Alpine National Park, plus others in NSW ad infinitum, a lot of them, very recent. Some by very popular YouTube Channels too.
According to the CASA regulations & Parks Victoria, I cannot use the drone without a permit in any of the area's they manage.. Fine is $3,000

    Filming and photography application guidelines

It also is being legislated that I will soon need registration & licencing.

My research also shows that drone video footage has metadata embedded that reveals date, time GPS co-ordinates, altitude etc, so it wouldn't be difficult to "ping" a Youtube poster for illegal drone usage.

I have no intention of risking 3k of my hard earned, but it puzzles me that "the authorities" are turning a blind eye to the proliferation of video's mentioned above, not even a comment in the public comment area's.
Possibly they are being patient and waiting till people are licenced & drones registered, before handing out 3k fines.
Has anyone heard of anyone being fined? The only one I have heard of is that idiot who sent his drone to Bunnings for a sausage..

Why is it a problem flying a drone in a state forest or other NP place? I would have thought if it was dangerous to others or being used to perve on young lovelies on the beach OK.
But just taking pics of where you are etc. for mostly personal use, no way. I suspect it's another ploy to screw more money out of the park users.

PS. Saying that though there's that many nut jobs around these days that they can only try to control them....... but then licencing of car driving hasn't done much good.

I know SFA about Drone flying so please excuse my input, but to me it seems obvious from their blurb.

Low impact and / or small-scale activities if conducted as a trade or business.
    You need one.

Revenue raising I believe. Privately, you don't need a licence but if you are going to make a bob or two out of it you pay. A bit of the olde "User Pays" stuff but not quite.

That's my take on it anyway.

    what's the problem here?

fly your drone where you are allowed to.

you don't drive without a license, I believe you should have an examinable license to fly a drone.

I'm already sick of seeing drones pop up in places I go.

I can't shoot them down but I think might make myself a small powerful shangeye.

So what is the fine in these areas for people that destroy the tracks hooning around in their 4WD's, leaving campfires unattended, cat crapping all over the place, running gensets next to others and leaving all their rubbish scattered around ??
I am willing to bet that these activities are Far more abhorrent than a piddley little drone flying about the place.

I believe they are covered under firearms legislation.

Yep, a couple of Airbursts from your Dinger should keep them at bay for a while.
