Peelers, Prods, Brits and British security forces also use it in a derogatory manner to Irish people or supporters, i.e. "you Fenian bastard"
The term derives from the Irish Na Fianna or Na Fianna Eireann who in Celtic mythology were a band of warriors formed to protect Ireland, Fionn Mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool) being the most famous of its warriors.
Eel refers to a pathetic/pathological love the user has for the footy team the Parramatta Eels. This term is also used in a derogatory manner by supporters of the Eels "those F%)^)^&& Eels give me the $%(^(" and also by supporters of better teams (at the present there are currently 13 of them). i.e. "The Eels - ha ha ha - they suck". Unfortunately at the time of writing - even the most subjective reader would have to agree:lol:
Thus FENIAN + EEL = ME!:D
