Rules and Locks work only for honest people. Protecting Women,Children and Men

Putting this in General chat, as a dad I think its important and ask if possible not making this more political with the hope our cool Mods might leave it here for all to see and consider. Thanks Feel free to share it with your local news sources

Doctors can help during times of acute stress using Mental Health care plans to help enable people in need of physiological assistance with medicare funding for 6 visits to a psychologist.

During relationship breakdowns some men and women under significant stress make very poor to appallingly bad choices. Men seldom seek help for mental health issues voluntarily. Police must have the requirement to force men in situations they may harm or present a real risk to their current or former partner or children to have appropriate psychological care or legal restraint if they refuse.

The power to compel men in stressful situation that they are clearly not dealing with appropriately, to have appropriate physiological assessment, treatment and restrained if refusal to have help to avoid them harming children, women and themselves during the entire period of the issue not limited to 6 sessions!

Rowan Baxter, the former Australian pro rugby player who burned his wife and three kids to death, was a dangerously possessive misogynist” Hannah Clarke, 31, Lainah, six, Aaliyah, 4 four and Trey, three and the murder needed help. Again and again Police do as much as they are allowed to help stop violence yet we see children thrown of bridges and burnt to death. Fixing this issue will save lives! Not just the headlines or the many silent horrors which we do not see or hear about.

Please ask or demand our politicians require police to and provide funding for psychological assessment and treatment in all cases there is a known risk of self harm or Domestic Violence.

    Sincerely

The police can't possibly oversee all the nutters who should be watched. As with those on terrorist watch lists the huge numbers of madmen who may attack their wives and kids is huge.
Cops will do what they can but they are not supermen/women.

Fully agree. Police can and do take people with major mental health issues to mental health facilities. They do not have any funded support to help with appropriate psychological support for the people they suspect might loose the plot during times of extreme stress some (not all) suffer or inflict on them selves during relationship breakdowns. Police deal mostly with after effects of crimes. It impacts on them as well.

I do not think nor does any evidence show all men kill or harm our kids and partners. The few that do are not stopped by a DVO. Many suicides are preventable if psychological support was a tool the police have which they do not at the moment.

Funded appropriate psychological support where police think it is needed is a tool to help not harm.

"It impacts on them as well" Yes it's not a job I could or would do. The sheer horror of what people can do to each other plus all the other **** they have to deal with would be too much for me.
