LR at the bottom of the JD Powers charts again

Land Rover and Jaguar owners experienced 220 and 186 problems per 100 vehicles respectively.
I can hear John Cadogan now...

It's a worry. But as I said to a driver of a "tough as, unbreakable, unstoppable, built up not bought" in Broome some years ago when he suggested we were brave leaving the metro area in our then D1 300Tdi, "Remind who has been waiting with his bonnet up for the last 2 days for someone to diagnose his problems".
He walked off without a word and never spoke to me again.

The majority of problems reported to JD Power are people that can't figure out how to connect their Bluetooth or use the voice controls.

    Does it matter?
    We like driving Land Rovers.
    End of!

And you have to like working on them.

I have seen that point made year after year after year. There is some relevance in the fact that traditionally top model Discos and Range Rovers are more high tech than many other makes...but there are plenty of cars now so packed full of tech that argument doesn't hold the same weight. And in the end LR have had decades to get reliability right whether it comes to blue tooth type devices to other things and if they can't get Bluetooth right (If that be true...I'm just using this as an example based on the post above) then that's a problem. Or not. Because in the end people buy them anyway....so.more power to LR [emoji1787].

    Cheers

PS. I love the older ones but doubt I would pay down my hard earned for a new one again.

Problems can be as small as a bulb failure, BT not connecting to their phone through to outright engine failure.

I wouldn’t consider the JD power survey as indicative of driving experience or quality overall.

You can sit in a crap vehicle and have no problems with it, but it may be uncomfortable as all hell, boring as bat**** and slow as a wet week.

Also have to account for things like Toyota Syndrome- how often do you hear an owner bitch about them - even when you’ve seen them with the bonnet up!

Doesn't really matter if it was a faulty light bulb,or whatever.
If a vehicle is as boring as bat ****,that won't matter either.

The bottom line is if a manufacturer continually sits towards the bottom of whatever new car survey, year in,year out,one would think they would try their utmost to clamber up the ladder,as it isn't a good look at all.

Land Rover has been at or near to the bottom of the JD Power list for as long as I can remember.

    Hasn't stopped people buying them.

I've seen pics of a bloke looking distraught next to his Range Rover Sport burning on the side of the road, a week later there's pics of the same bloke he's just bought a brand new Range Rover Sport, big smile on his face.

If people love the cars they don't care about the problems, and they will keep buying them.
