Love it. Stayed at the Grosvenor in the 90's, was atrocious. The next time the national lobster group was meeting in Adelaide I stayed there again just to confirm how bad.

I also know that the Grosvenor was actually a hospital prior to being a hotel, which might explain a few air con things.

It seems everyone just wants someone to blame, rather than an actual outcome. The best thing individuals can do is to go and schedule their vaccination (it probably would have been easier last week), that way there is one more vaccinated person that won't fall sick if they catch the coronas.......

The way Howard Springs is set up the current infection wouldn't've happened because the people are staying in cabins and there are no corridors, which was the problem this time.

If I recall correctly the last breach in Victorian quarantine hotels also occurred because of transmission in a corridor.

Re NSW, they've had some outbreaks with no index case - in other words, Covid is circulating in the community and the NSW Government doesn't know where or in who.

That is certainly interesting, a Hospital eh? WW1 perhaps? Didn't know that & never saw any evidence of it in my visits there. The aircon was certainly post WW1 or 2 so????? But it was probably a long time ago & as far as I was aware had always been a place where Country folk stayed after alighting from the Adelaide Railway Station over the road. A "Traveller's Hotel" as it were. All rail tracks terminated there.

It was apparently popular with Shearers.


The Chairman of our Board (my employer's) was also Chairman of the Grosvenor which probably accounted for the connection with the place.
