Whats essential American list my be what we see with a few differences. A lot of Allied health types are oddly unhappy not being essential.

Bad luck if one is rummaging in the Glove Box (are they still called that as the only ones I have seen are full of papers & general crap ?) moving on, while leaning over to the passenger side while doing so, does one get it in the arse & that is why it is a SURPRISE?

Others can chime in if they like, with their thoughts, if they have any.

"DING". There does seem to be a lot of guesswork going on at the mo but I don't believe anyone can say with certainty. Scomo mentioned 6 months in one of his speeches but I believe he just plucked that out of the air as an eg.

My feeling is, that may turn out to be closer to the time, but believe there will be pullback & staged efforts as it decreases to unwind all that that has been put in place. IMHO.

Then we have to wait with baited breath to see if it raises it's ugly head again.

Went to the IGA , opposite is the Brighton medical centre. Outside is a health worker fully kitted out in PPE. A table and chair and bits and pieces, the sign says ." this is not a coronavirus testing site, but is door stop testing " Every one who comes to the centre is tested for temperature, and general well being. I saw a questionnaire that had to be filled out. Fail the test, presumably if you fit the bill, next stop virus testing facility. A good way to keep their patients as safe as they can.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I reckon that a lot of cruise lines may be struggling.
Similarly any hotel/motels that might have been struggling will find it pretty tough.
Organisations that deal with entertainment such as concert promoters and football codes may have to go back to first base to reestablish audiences and finance for events

With the support and stimulus businesses my carry on for a few months afterwards and then succomb.

Listening to the ABC radio on the weekend, interviewing a young performer, she said the industry has already organised an online concert on social media. About 20 performers , I think, they don't even have to be in the same room. There was some suggestion this or something similar, could be the concerts of the future. Pay per view, on the device of your choice. There was some talk on how the booking companies could be fitted into the system so that there could be minimal disruption to the status quo. Perhaps it's time for the Boomers to stand aside, and let the young ones move us into the new World .

The case for Endgame C: stop almost everything, restart when coronavirus is gone - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I'm starting to think "Endgame C" makes a lot of sense.

"In effect, Endgame C appears to be the strategy of China and South Korea — and domestically Tasmania is heading in the same direction.
Endgame C appears to be working so far in China, where the only new cases on Thursday were incoming passengers, each of whom is required to spend 14 days in supervised isolation in a designated hotel.
In Endgame C, it is plausible the shutdown would only need to last about eight weeks."

    Corona Virus

Is one of the symptoms of Covid 19 that you lose IQ points rapidly? Had our morning tele conference with the team I work with and geez, some of them seem to have got really dumb in the last could of days...

Basic things they don’t understand - one person (who I thought was quite smart but apparently not) was saying how worried he was that there were now 1,000’s of infections in Australia and that the majority of these people were going to die...

Seems he thought the mortality rate was 80% as he’d heard that number being used but that was for recoveries from infection without intervention.

A couple of others said dumb stuff too - where are they getting this stuff from?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

NZ will be in lock down from Wednesday.

    https://covid19.govt.nz/assets/COVID...-levels_v2.pdf

    • NZ is in coronavirus lockdown for next four weeks after PM lifts alert status.
    • Our coronavirus alert level will lift to 3 tomorrow and to 4 within 48 hours.
    • Schools, childcare centres and universities will be closed from tomorrow.
    • All non-essential businesses or services must shut in the next 48 hours.
    • Kiwis should stay at home unless visiting an essential service, PM says.

NZ in coronavirus lockdown for next four weeks - Jacinda Ardern says schools closed, essential services only - NZ Herald

We are scheduled to stay in lock down for four weeks at this stage. If people do not adhere to lock down, and we continue to see a rapid increase in cases, we get more weeks added. It suddenly feels like detention at school all over again.

Agree, it is time to shut this off, it will be painful but look how quickly China has recovered. I believe they have gone two or three days without a new case and life is slowly starting to return to some form of normal.

Well if that is the case then we will be right behind you becaus Scomo seems to be following your PM's lead. Or maybe it is just the time difference.

I wonder if no new cases is true. I wonder if their reporting to the world is accurate?

    Cheers
