What will they do to make Rottnest habitable for 800 bods for 14 days? Tents, Temporary buildings etc ?

    Serious question.

If they will be looking for Wiles Cookers we know the man that knows more men.

19:45. Edited. Just had a shufti at the RI website & was surprised at the range of accommodation available.

Between the high end & budget is quite a difference so one can expect a bit of pushing & shoving, competition & complaints as to who will be allocated the best or the lowest., but ffs it will be home for a couple of weeks & they will be well looked after. They should think of it as a pleasant Add-On Vacation.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't be adverse to spending a couple of weeks there myself.

Humans have history when it comes to pandemics. An observation by Samuel Pepys, MP, and Chief Secretary to the Admiralty, made during the great plague in London, 1664.

"On hearing ill rumor that Londoners may soon be urged into their lodgings … I looked upon the street to see a gaggle of striplings making fair merry, and no doubt spreading the plague well about. Not a care had these rogues for the health of their elders." (Samuel Pepys, 1664)

And now, Bunnings. How long before order starts to break down?

Bunnings brings in tough purchase limits amid coronavirus worries

The WA Government has apparently asked for naval assistance.

Yes, that's in the article if you open the link.

The government has to be careful what they do with the Artania.Refuel it and send it on its way, the safest option. What to do with these Aussies is a headache.

More than 200 Australians stranded on an Italian cruise ship with a confirmed coronavirus case have now docked in a port on Italy’s west coast, according to a Melbourne couple on the ship.

Andrew Thompson in the ABC Melbourne newsroom gave us this update:

Passengers onboard the Costa Victoria have been told to stay in their rooms following the case recorded at sea this week.

Simone and Brett Jacques said the ship had now docked near the seaside town known as Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera coast.

The couple told the ABC they feared there may be further cases of coronavirus they hadn't been told about by the ship’s operators.

Mr and Ms Jacques said they did not know what would happen next and called on the Australian government to do more to help them.

There are no Australians on the Artania. Our obligations are purely international law in relation to the ship being "in distress". Otherwise we have no obligation to let anyone off.
