Coles have masks in their NSW stores ready to roll out, and its ok for staff to wear them ahead of any announcement if they wish.
Was discussing this with a manager this arvo.

Been in and out of all the majors all weekend.
And customers won't keep their bloody distance.
If one of us service types don't end up with it It'll be a bloody miracle.

I know exactly what you mean Rick. Early days of this thing I needed to know the model of a "Penny" battery for something & what did I do? . Walked up to a Woolie's assistant & asked, I gave him the battery to read the model & we were standing prob a foot away from each other. He took it & had difficulty reading the model because it was etched rather badly. Did not think for one split second about "Social Distancing"

OK I shouldn't have done it, nor should he, that but it is the sort of thing I have done all my life. You want help, you naturally ask the assistant, right?

Not any more it's not. Some of our actions have always been the norm & like Prince Charles after he had had the virus, got out of his car & immediately tried to shake hands with some geezer, not just once but to the 2nd bloke as well, hurriedly pulling back his hand at the last second & choosing to do that other dumb thing of touching elbows.

Speaking of elbows, have you tried reaching yours with your mouth to have a cough? Exactly, another dumb thing to try & do & while one is coughing & not being able to reach their elbow where are all their bacteria going? Yep.

If one has a touch of Arthritis of the shoulder it is impossible.

Some things have become 2nd nature all our lives & I suspect there may be a lot of this going on.

South Oz hasn't reached the compulsory Mask thing yet & I hope it never comes.

I see that in regional Victoria excluding Mitchel Shire and Western Victoria that face masks are a recommendation only and not compulsory. In fact nothing has changed for us.

And many of us can't work from home. All our service industries, basically any of us that keep everything running in the background.

Agreed, but they can still take precautions, which many (like the builders and tradies on the site next door to my house) don't appear to be.

New rules re masks/face coverings for regional Vic come into effect tonight - required from tomorrow

Shook my head at the bloke who drove from Melb to Wodonga for a Big Mac. Words fail me.

Anyway, Melb locked down from tonight, can't go more than 5ks except for work, curfew 8pm-5am. Schools going back to remote learning from Wed. Other work restrictions coming tomorrow. Getting serious.

Elderly friends at Melton very frustrated at being locked down because other people won't stay home.

Good to have a crackdown now for 6 weeks rather than letting the virus get out of hand for months, I think.

NSW Premier asking all NSW people to wear masks.

My wife is sewing masks this arvo.
