Every person who has been caught falsifying legal documents to gain advantage should be named and shamed on every media outlet. If true, it's very odd that he was on a diplomatic passport if he was just a private security contractor because diplomatic passports are tightly controlled. He won't be ASIS because they have actual diplomatic cover.

There's a loophole in NSW related to this that may cause problems - foreign diplomats taking up posts in Australia have to do 14 days quarantine, but my understanding is that NSW isn't allowing them to stay in the quarantine hotels even if they offer to pay for it, which means that they'll be unguarded and unsupervised elsewhere in Sydney or perhaps elsewhere in the country. But i'm sure nothing will go wrong ......

The question seem to be if a document was faked under a DFAT letterhead in Kabul and used to get NSW clearance to fly to Maroochydore rather than going into quarantine in Sydney and Qld clearance to isolate at home.

More likely an Official Passport which also is entitled to certain privileges - my guess is that someone has jumped to a false conclusion about a Diplomatic Passport if the guy was not actual "consular" staff.

And apparently they can't trace all those that were on the same domestic flight,as they don't have their details.
Another loophole or stuff up that needs sorting ASAP.

This article on ABC news confirms that he was a DFAT contractor,Queensland Premier asks police to investigate how '''security contractor''' was granted coronavirus quarantine exemption, three others charged - ABC News he had DFAT paperwork confirming his employment and had a diplomatic passport which would not be unusual. He does not however have any sort of diplomatic immunity because he isnt a member of diplomatic staff (not that this is relevant). Diplomatic passports are sometimes issued instead of Official ones depending on the vagaries of the host country.
The question of whether he should have gone into quarantine in Sydney raises the question of whether Danni Minogue should have been quarantining at her residence, similarly the Prime Minister, Marise Payne etc who also do not have to go into government quarantine but are required to self isolate at home.

How many people will test positive because while infectious he was allowed to fly to Sydney, move around the airport, fly to Marychoodore, move around that airport and then go to Toowoomba?
It only took one security guard to take the virus home from hotel quarantine and spread it around Melbourne. It only took one man to carry the virus from Melbourne to Sydney.
Think I'll bunker down up here on the range and become anti-social.
