I hated prefects when in high school. Too much rule watching! We don't want a prefect world now!

Ah, but can the Observers count? I have never understood nor trusted, the on line/Electronic voting thing, as once things are on a computer they must be open to abuse & manipulation.
Shirley I jest, roight?[bighmmm]
The only good thing that may come out of this C19 business is that one trusts the Govt to formulate a "National Emergency Plan" so we all know who is supposed to be doing what, where, when & why, no matter what the cause is.
ie. Clear cut Guidelines.
It might save all this time wasting bickering & things can be jumped on earlier than what we have seen with this thing.
Oh hang about we are a Federation aren't we? Don't forget the saying, "We are all in this together" Yeah right. Oh no we ****ing ain't, we are protecting & covering the collective arses of those in Govt. & Officialdom while they waste the effort we have all contributed to.
They have used genomic testing to trace it as fortunately they had samples from 6 of the 9 taken at the time they were infectious, so they were able to trace them back through the contacts of those 6 people.
Most of them had identical genomic results to the people they were living with. Therefore it seems clear the 6 were infected at home in the community, not in the hotels.
That kills the idea the virus came from returned travellers who gave it to security guards.
So, many of the public comments and claims made about how the virus spread, particularly in certain media, were wrong.
Interesting that the WA Premier's standard of requiring the whole of Australia to go 28 days without community transmission before WA will open up is the same 28 day standard that Qld is applying to NSW and Victoria.
So it's a case of 'put up or shut up' for NSW in particular if it wants Qld to open to NSW on November 1. Can NSW go 28 days without a community case?
We have been told that NSW has the 'gold standard' in contact tracing, but actually Qld has been very effective at tracing itself and has had more zero days than NSW.
The 28 days rule is certainly tougher than the proposed alternative of an average of less than five cases a day over three days, which seems likely to allow the virus to continue to spread as restrictions are reduced, particularly in Sydney.
I notice NZ seems unimpressed and is still saying no Aussies will be allowed into NZ under the NSW/NT 'five average over 3 days' rule.
If NZ won't accept NSW/NT people under the '5 over 3 days' rule, then why should WA or Qld?
As has been pointed out before, WA had bugger-all infections to start with, so controlling them is not much to crow about. Conversely, most of the people returning to Australia were flying into Melbourne and Sydney - including a lot who went on to other States like WA, but only after Vic and NSW had been responsible for quarantining them. If Vic or NSW had imposed similar border controls to WA your WA comrades and SA and Tasmanian counterparts wouldn't've got back into Australia at all, or with much greater difficulty given the small number of people WA was allowing in by air and the complete absence of direct international flights into SA or Tas.
19 days and counting. Doesn't look good for Vic. with irresponsible beach goers, and Chadstone shopping centre.
'Don't risk everything': Maskless Melburnians greet sun and ignore rules
Au has had 27000 odd cases of Covid 19 with 20,000 in Victoria , with the rest of the 7000 spread across Au . WA has about 686 " Bugger All " cases , most of this number was at the start of the problem early in the year .
The point is each State started off with the same 1 or several points of contamination of the virus . WA Clamped down straight away with Regional lockdowns/closed borders and all the other requirements in place to limit spread , thus stopping the spread right at the start , was a bloody pain but worth the pain . And life is back to normal here has as has been for the last 5 odd months with minimal spread of numbers , other than a few ship crew problems and all international arrivals of about 685 a week have had and still spend 14 Days in Q/tine .
You can put down WA all you like with not having a problem to start with but of course we had the same problems as every where else , the results speak for themselves . And the borders will hopefully remain closed until this thing is sorted out .
