    BCC Election

I live in Brisbane & we have Council elections coming up on the 28th March , just wandering if they will cancel . We have already applied for a postal vote due to my wife's ill health over the last 6 to 9 months . It is past the date now to apply but am wondering when they will decide to go ahead or not. Personally I think it should be cancelled. This is the 1st time we have ever done a postal vote & we have not received our voting forms as yet , if they leave it much longer there won't be enough time to post it back what with the speed of Aust Post.
    What do others think.

Council elections statewide and the Bundamba by-election to be held in conjunction.
Early voting is available, going by the number of people lined up to vote early, in Ipswich yesterday, there'll only be half a dozen left to vote on polling day. That might be the safest time to vote.

76 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Queensland, out of a population of 4.7 MILLION (2016 Census). There has been one alleged death in Qld, a 77 YO woman who may have had a pre-existing condition.

You must make your own decisions, but I'd go and vote. I'm trying to live a normal life, but selfish hoarders won't let me.

Of course, your wife's poor health would be a contributing worry, and you must take that into account. I'm sure the Electoral Commission will be advised to take this thing into consideration when dealing with infringements.

I go to Norman Park School for the sausage sizzle and coconut ice. You mean one can vote there as well?

I attended NPSS from 1962 to 1968. We had sausages, but no coconut rice...

Will be interesting to see if the figures quoted here skyrocket after the elections.
I'm not going to check because I couldn't give a rats arse but perhaps more interested parties may like to.

The 77 year old woman booked herself out of an aged home to go to Sydney. Had some issues, and she nearly died on the plane. Sad. Her daughter came back from overseas , and is suspected of passing the virus on to her. Terrible situation. Voting is still on, but they are talking about voting over the phone for those in quarantine. Not sure how that would work. The Attorney General said alternative measures were being put in place for those unable to cast their ballot by post or at the ballot box. But the article doesn't say what. No doubt you will get an annoying phone call from one side or another chasing your vote, perhaps they may be able to tell you, or ring the incumbent, tell them you'll be voting for them, they might send a car.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
