3 trips in my family cancelled one to top end another to Vic high country another to Fink and around for 4 weeks.

Too risky to travel within Tas too now as we will face a total lock down soon I think and have to return and stay home.

My dad was supposed to be flying to England tomorrow to see his unwell mum. As we are permanent residents, he spent 18months getting citizenship, then booked flights a couple months ago as soon as that was done, then suddenly this virus came about and he cannot go. Hopefully Nana hangs on until this is all over and he can get over to her.

Our farm is in an area where there are a lot of blockies about 5 km down the road in some rough country. It will be interesting to see next weekend how many people are out there hiding from the virus and expecting emergency service from Boorowa Hospital if they get sick (or shoot themselves)

    Regards,

We are both in the "danger zone" as far as health and age go But we do live more than 30K's from town an hardly ever get visitor's and we rarely head into town anyway.
We have also told the kids tha anyone with even a snotty nose including the grandkids is Not welcome here for a while.

Our 5 week Russia/Scandinavian trip in May is now a 'No Go'. All paid up, too.
It will be interesting to see how things pan out with recouping any funds.
    Disappointing? Too right,
although I look at it this way.
When you spend money to travel, you really have nothing to show for the expense except pics and memories, some perhaps bad so, if I do my dough, all I'm down is a couple of hundred pics, which would be filed on the 'puter and probably looked at 3-4 times and some memories. Plus, I'll save money on expenses such as souvenirs, food, cabs and drinkies.
I'd consider it a damn sight worse if I'd paid the same money for something tangible and been dudded.

Hope she's okay ..at least the gov over there is providing for the oldies thereby enabling them to stay safe. It's not good over there..our relatives are Drs and they are scared about the situation..and they have a relatively good health care system.

had to cancel our group trip to William Ck incorporating Simpson Desert Crossing, Innamincka and then completely back down south to Paringa.

Several border crossings would have been necessary between 4 states.

I feel for you and your Dad. My Mum is in a similar position - she was booked to fly back to England to see her very unwell Sister but that can’t happen now. Like you, we are hoping that our OS family stay safe through this and are still there to visit after we get through this.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

She is strong at the moment but still so frail. Luckily Skype is possible thanks to my cousins and uncle. The trip was also a surprise for her but with the events currently, she was informed of dads plans so should the worst happen, she at least knows he was coming and will be as soon as travel restrictions lifted. I really miss my Nana and all family overseas. Is the hardest part of moving country. I am going to get my citizenship sorted during this time too, and with my new wheelchair coming, I will finally be able to go visit family over there too
