At least it will be a change from gardening/house maintenance[biggrin]
As well as burying stiffs. Or is that under the Gardening umbrella. [bigrolf]

Going through old phots and scanning them is good for some. This was late 70s, early 80s, from memory. I took a few of the then QLD netball team camping on the Eastern beach on Moreton for a week. Loved that vehicle!

NO stiffs to do now all the garden beds have been dug, weeded and fertilised ready to be planted with seedlings which May happen over the next couple of days.
I ordered some tin to replace the roof at the back of the house so I am off to Bunnings for some tech screws and other fittings So in a few days I will be able to add "Roofing" to my repotwa [thumbsupbig]
Took me a while to work that one out!
FINISHED!
I think about 26 hours build time.
Good for the arthritis in the hands, but hell on the the knees etc sitting for long.

That pic was the one the oldest grandson made at school, which is basic, but serviceable. Good on him for making it.
The ones in Bunnings are lightweight and warp in a hot fire.
If you want a real flash firepit then you need a Japanese folding Snow Peak from Drifta. They are definitely not cheap, but are great quality stainless steel. My family says I spent too much on it, which is true, but they don't complain when we use it. I see it as a lifetime purchase. One of the sons also has one.
There are several sizes and various accessories on the Drifta site. I sized ours to fit easily in the camper, so I bought a medium with baseplate, grille, adjustable sides and canvas woodbag. Very happy with it.
Here it is in use last night.
EDIT: pic upload failed. See next post.
Our house water pump needed replacing so I kept the pressure tank and made a cooker out of it, using an old plough disc. Cut the top off and use as the base. On talking to the pump bloke, he told me he had some larger tanks to go to the dump so I relieved him of one. The 1st edition (2nd pic) was a bit bland for the good woman so I attacked it with a saw and put a bit of 'Australiana' in to it. I must say that, when the fire is up and roaring, the Southern Cross twinkles quite well.[biggrin] Cost was very cheap, too.[thumbsupbig]
