Have never been there although I should one day. My Mum was from there when my Grandpappy was Librarian, at well, the upstairs Library, & back in the days when it was also the Railway Station downstairs. An up- stairs Railway Station would be silly.
My Gran was engaged there when she turned 21.
Geraldton also known as the nearest Coastal Town when HMAS Sydney & the German Commerce Raider Kormoran had their historic punch up off the coast in WW2.
Sadly, as we now know, Sydney was destroyed & sunk, as was the Kormoran. Difference was the Kormoran managed survivors & Sydney apparently did not & if there were some, they were never located. Apparently the whole Ship's Company was lost when Sydney exploded, possibly when a Magazine went up & her Bows were blown off.
A mystery until quite recent years when her remains were discovered by an Underwater Search Team. Now a Wreck of Historic Importance & a War Grave & not to be tampered with.
Just sayin'

Good luck with the pension. I mean it.
I guess you know you can pre-submit everything with your application and it can be pre-approved to start automatically on that date.
Be aware they take an average of nine weeks to consider an application and bank statements cannot be more than three months old. We had to resubmit some of ours.
If you haven't already I recommend you check the asset limits as you may need to re-organise your assets to get a full pension, depending on what you have.
I don't know your situation, but a pensioner whose wife is not a pensioner gets less than a single pensioner, even if the wife has no income, which seems strange to me as two people are being supported, not one.
I recommend getting the Centrelink ap on your phone as it makes communications so much easier. For example, you can just photograph documents with your phone and quickly upload them through the ap, rather than having to scan and email or, heaven forbid, visit a Centrelink office.
Anyway, good luck with it.
Any land over 5 acres is deemed an asset. I was surprised to be told two years ago that I am entitled to Jack ****! Not even a health card.
My wife is still working and it's not as though we're rolling in money!
Back on topic: I gave the tractor flail implement it's first full paddock run this a.m. To say I'm happy with it is true. Under 3 hours for a bit over 5 acres.

Yes, but it can also depend on the value of that excess land. If it's low then it can come down to the value of other assets. Also, it may still be possible to get a part-pension if you are somewhere between the asset minimum and maximum.
Its important to get good advice well ahead of time so affairs can be re-arranged.
For example, while rental income is counted, board from an immediate family member is not counted, but must still be declared.
Its also useful to link your Centrelink account to your my.gov account and ATO tax number so they can see you are not trying to hide anything.
Anyway, I hope Trout gets good advice and is successful. Us old buggers have paid so much tax over our working lives I reckon we deserve to get a bit back.
